Hi all,
after doing emerge -uDp system, I am no longer able to log in with any user except root, for kde, gnome, failsafe terminal...
in var/log/messages I have the following,
gdm[5756]: PAM unable to dlopen(/lib/security/pam_console.so)
Feb 14 08:12:43 evangelion gdm[5756]: PAM [dlerror: /lib/security/pam_console.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory]

I tried to emerge -e pam pam-login kdebase-pam but no can do.
I do not know what to do next.

have you upgraded your configs? especially those from /etc/pam.d?
notice: PAM [dlerror: /lib/security/pam_console.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory]
have you compiled PAM with 'pam_console' flag? post your /etc/pam.d/system-auth

Thank you smerf, I fixed the problem by modifying /etc/pam.d/system-auth. |
