Hi all,

I've got a weird problem with OpenGL. Whenever I change the window focus from a window running an application using DRI (e.g. glxgears) to any other window, X freezes and I have to reboot the machine. It also happens when using gl2 as video out device with mplayer (only then I don't have to change the focus), so I guess it's an OpenGL problem.

DRI is enabled. I'm using an ATI Technologies Inc Radeon Mobility M6 LY on a Thinkpad X31 with the exact same configuration as here: http://dev.gentoo.org/~brix/papers/X31/X31.html

I've tried disabling DRI in the kernel and emerging ati-drivers, but they don't support my card. I've also tried emerging x11-drm, but the compilation aborts complaining about undefined I2C_something.

I've checked for error messages in syslog/X log after the system crashed, but there was nothing.

Is anybody able to shed some light on this? Thanks :)

I have had that problem since ever. The x11-drm problem may be solved by setting the video card USE flag and by emerging a newer package version (a masked one, to say). But, unfortunately, that doesn't help either. The system crashes again.
