i have a problem.

while i run this:

 /etc/init.d/net.eth0 start


it told me "eth0 does not exist".

please tell me why or give me some advices.

did you compile in support for your ethernet adapter?
try lspci to see what adapter you have, then load the appropriate kernel module or compile it in.

i tried the command lspci
but it not work

lspci needs to be ran as root

Try this command:

su


Type your root password, then try:

Code:
#lspci | grep net


That should list your ethernet device...

Also, did you compile your kernel manually or via genkernel?

If you don't have pciutils installed on your system yet, you can just boot with the LiveCD and run lspci from there.
