Works fine here but suspend2 still breaks the compile on both my amd64 computers.

However, not nitro specific but 2.6.16 has finally fixed my usb hid timing errors which created severe problems on my system. It really feels great now.

No good news Tiger: I can't boot that beauty, it hangs at cleaning temp directory, very strange. Any special options I should take care of? I think it has to do with the sata stuff...

Ok guys here comes good news

Tiger you did it! I have now a (nearly) fully working T43 here:

-fingerprint working again
-sata with ata_piix (ahci fails with an error)
-hdaps detects my machine correctly
-suspend2 working
-standby working, very fast and stable as never before

And of course some bad news:

The problems at booting went away when I changed PARALLEL_STARTUP to NO. I think thats very strange that it has to do with the kernel update. I got an error like unary operator [ or so at line 624 in the gentoo init main script. It was in the part of parallel startup, thats why I disabled it.

But nevermind about that!

The main problem: I can't compile madwifi with that kernel.

I would be happy if we could sort out that. Probably the version of madwifi (0.1443.20060207) in incompatible with latest kernel?

Anyway I'm on holidays and will need the wirelss just in 6 weeks, so there is time for that issue :lol:

So Tiger... not bad kernel all in all! The greatest thing is SATA->dvd&standby

__loki__: Hmm, my subjective impression is that it's a little snappier,
but stability MIGHT suffer, although i've yet to find any problems related to it

Phlogiston: can you post the error you are getting?
for me, it's segfaulting or something in the end, friggin strange stuff dude

ok, so it looks like modpost is a badass with this one....
it's above the scope of patching madwifi, rather i should figure out
what in Kbuild's modpost causes this glibc error first....strange stuff.....

Hi. Sneak preview II is running very well here,.. Everything works as it should (didnt test suspend2 here, as it wont work because it never did)
With this release i tried the anticipatory scheduler, and i have to admit in cases where heavy io happens, i have the feeling it is kinda snappier.

Well,.. any need to test suspend2,.. maybe i will have some free time this afternoon (running an x86 - athlon-xp 2600+)
