Basically what I did was when I wrote the grub.conf I left out the line that has to do with the video. Now when I boot all i can see is a scramble of colors. I can still boot to linux if I just press "enter" and windows if I press "down" then "enter." I would really like to fix this but I can't find the grub.conf using locate. How do I edit the grub.conf to include my video line?

I made a simialr mistake. Just use the live cd, mount your hd. then open the grub.conf and change it. |

You can manually edit grub by hitting the 'e' key instead of enter when the menu pops up , look for the line vga=??? , I have mine set to 791 , you may want to remove it , then fix it permenantly when in your system
