|
|
hi all!
I've tried installing Gentoo 2005.1 very often but it was never succesfull.
At the first time it couldn't find my root device...
Second grub didn't even show up properly and I got "Error loading operating system".....
I've got 2 IDE HDs in my PC, both are jumpered CS enabled
The first in mainly for windows and on the second I'm trying installing gentoo.
so /dev/hda is Windows
/dev/hdb is formated after my last try
could you please tell me how my grub config should look like or how I should configure USE because I want to install it this time succesfully.
thx

Your system is booting of a harddisk that has no bootloader installed in the mbr. Change the sequence in the bios, install grub in the mbr of the harddisk or swap the harddisks on the connectors. _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. so I should install grub on /dev/hdb where /boot is located? |

You should install grub on the harddisk that your system boots from. Or change that setting in the bios. _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. Help answer the unanswered
