|
|
I am attempting to install a new gentoo system, by using my main system to compile/install on the hard drive.
I compiled all the software for this specific processor type, compiled the kernel for this processor type, and still... this system dosen't want to boot past the following...
Code: |
Freeing kernel memory: 276k freed
|
Any suggestions? Anyone ever see an issue like this before?
Build system: p3 700/512mB Asus p3bf mobo
Installed system: k6 233/64mB IBM Aptiva w/SiS chipset
before anyone asks... I did compile all software packages and the kernel for a k6 processor... not for the p3 system.
make.conf flags are
march=k6 -O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer
the kernel is compiled for a k6 processor, using gentoo-sources _________________ hooligan
