Anyone know what's up with this or seen similar behavior?

Code:

Tasks:  95 total,   2 running,  92 sleeping,   0 stopped,   1 zombie
Cpu(s):   5.2% user,  15.4% system,  55.7% nice,  23.6% idle
Mem:    514564k total,   506252k used,     8312k free,    39372k buffers
Swap:  1036112k total,    95300k used,   940812k free,   231044k cached

PID USER      PR  NI  VIRT  RES  SHR S %CPU %MEM    TIME+  Command
 1899 jbooth    15   0  185m 105m 1528 S  0.0 21.0   0:16.00 gnome-session

I've never noticed it doing that before. My gnome is up to date as of two to three days ago (just had it all rebuild after a rsync).
