Hi All,
I have a machine that I can't seem to edit its kmenu with KMenuEdit as a non-root user. Seems to work fine for the root account however. Seems to me a permission must have gotten changed but I have no clue where to start looking. Any Hints? |

Well, that appears to be ok. Perms are rw-r--r-- and the user account is the owner and a member of the users group. |

well I stopped X, moved my .kde3.4 dir .kde3.4.orig, then restarted X. Got the nice KPersonalizer wizard which I walked through.... when I got to KDE, I right clicked on the K menu , chose Menu Editor. Made a change, saved it. Then right clicked on the K menu, chose Menu Editor and my change was not there.
So I'm still stumped.... |

Well, maybe I'm just a n00b and this is user error. I was trying to change an entry such that it would be required to run as root (Run as different user section) and that wasn't sticking.... but if I change the description of an entry that appears to stick with my original .KDE3.4 dir. I'm also able to add new entries. |
