I have just installed Gentoo, and I am having trouble using emerge. When I use "emerge --update --deep --newuse world", I get a weird error. I have googled it, but I could not find any solution to the problem.
Here is the error massage:
!!! Digest verification Failed:
!!! /usr/portage/sys-fs/udev/files/udev.permissions
!!! Reason: Filesize does not match recorded size
I also get the same massege when I try to upgrade gnome to gnome 2.12.
right after I type "emerge gnome" the same error comes up.
I have also tried "emerge sync", but that did not solve the problem.
I have looked at the file, but I have not chaged anything in there. If anyone know what the problem is please help me out!!!! |

This should fix your udev problem
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-380176.html
please post more if it's happening to *every* package because it shouldn't (although I'm guessing that udev is a dependency of gnome so that's why you're getting the same error...) |
