Hi everyone,

i recently emerged Amarok and everhing runs fine. I use the gstreamer engine via esdsink, and a buffersize of 4096k. However, when playing mp3s, amarok tends to interrupt the playback every 30-60 seconds for just a chunk. This is no groundbraking problem, but very disturbing. Does anyone know a possible solution?

Regards,
Erik

The amaroK Team has been working a lot on that issue. In the new version (whose Beta is in portage) 1.4 there will be _truely_ gapless playback with the xine engine and oggs. There seems to be a problem with MP3 that does not allow them to do _real gapless_ but it still has gotten a lot better!
So as soon as the new version is there you might wanna consider switching to xine engine (I run amarok-1.4beta1 with xine and I can only hear the gap if I really concentrate on it.)
