Hi,
I have got a fresh install of gentoo on my HP nx8220 laptop, and the reboot doesn`t work. When I try to reboot it everything seems ok, massage restarting system shows up but then nothing happens. Any ideas what could be wrong? A bug? Halt works fine.

I find a solution to problem with freezing. You just need to add reboot=b to your kernel boot line like so:
Code: |
default 0 timeout 5 splashimage=(hd0,2)/boot/grub/splash.xpm.gz title Gentoo Linux (Riskable sources) root (hd0,2) kernel /boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/hda3 reboot=b |
