why does nvidia driver require xfs sources?

I'm reinstalling, and have finally got a work kernel (had to go back to gentoo-sources 2.4.19_r10).

Now if I try to install the nvidia drivers I am told that xfs-sources are required?

What on earth for?

yeah. emerge nvidia-kernel lists xfs-sources as a dependency. Very odd.

UPDATE: Forget this post. I just emerged -up world overnight and now, this morning, no more problem.
