This thing is driving me crazy!!!!!
I am trying to access a windows share on a host, lets call the host "host" to be original.
I punch in "smb://host" in my konqueror address bar. I get prompted for a password.
This is where the fun begins. "username" and "password" is valid on the windows host, and is also the "username" and "password" that is currently logged into kde. The password is denied. I can use any other valid user from the Windows box and it will work. But I cannot use the current user logged in to kde.
If I log out of kde and login as "username2" and "password2", then I can access my windows share no problem using "username" and "password", but now "username2" and "password2" are denied.
Is this some sick security feature or am I doing something wrong?

Hi HoomerJ
Maybe it helps that way: 'yourpc\youruser' instead of 'youruser' to show that you're using the account on the windows machine for logging in there...

Thanks for the reply, I tried all that, but nothing worked. Then I ended up deleting all the settings under KDE Settings/Network/Local Network Browsing (the default username and password used to access shares) and now I can login.
What gets me is if this password was wrong, why was it "corrupting" the ones I was manually typing in?
