If I receive a word doc as an attachment in kmail, it fails to open with openoffice.
Oowriter regards each word as a separate file and i get a series of messages
eg
Quote:
/tmp/kde-paul/Minutes does not exist
/home/paul/of does not exist
/home/paul/commitee does not exist
/home/paul/meeting does not exist
/home/paul/15 does not exist
/home/paul/February does not exist
/home/paul/2006.doc_[4R704a].doc does not exist

for an attachment "Minutes of committee meeting 15 February 2006.doc"

where do i sort this out ?

What version of kmail are you using?

What mail client is the sender using?

If you look at the message source (use the v key), how exactly does it identify the attachment?
For example, this from a message, with word doc attachment, which I just sent to myself in kmail:

Code:
Content-Type: application/msword;
  name="letter to some person.doc"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
Content-Disposition: attachment;
   filename="letter to some person.doc"

I wonder if your message has the file name in quotes or not? Kmail runs ooo to open the word doc attachment in this message just fine.

Hmmm.
I'm running kde-base/kmail-3.5.0-r3
I've been using kmail since I KDE 3.3 and I don't remember having that kind of problem, but I may not have received an attachment with spaces in the filename, and it seems obvious that the spaces are causing the problem.
