|

Hello,
I just bought a Asus V9570/TD (GeForce 5700) Card. It comes with a small (windows) utility called "Smart Doctor" to monitor and set the card's fan speed. Without the utility (for example at boot or when using linux) the fan runs at full blast all the time, which is o.k. for gaming, but much to loud for work.
I alreaddy searched google and some forums on this topic, but didn't find anything exept lm-sensors, which seems to feature only fan monitoring, not cotrolling.
Is there any (maybe tricky but working) way to control the fan speed of this card under linux? If not, I'll have to return it on monday and search for maybe a Sapphire 9600 Pro Ultimate, having fun with ATI-Modules next weekend then.
Thanks for your help.

Try this:
Code: | emerge nvclock
nvclock -f -F 80 |
This would set your fanspeed to 80% (that is, if your card supports changing fan speed.) _________________ Nick on freenode #gentoo
