Is there substantial danger in booting into windows while suspended from linux? I do it from time to time with no apparent problem. Any danger in this?

the image is either in a file stored on a linux partition or in swap and the wakeup process is entirely done after the normal kernel booted, i don't see any problems

Maybe he refers to mounted FAT32 partitions that might be changed through the Windows session? I'm kinda wondering about that myself...

That's exactly what I'm worried about.

I've never used suspend2, but looked at it. It will let you unmount partitions when suspending & remount when resuming:

You don't want to suspend with shared partitions mounted.

I suppose that's the safest thing.
