This file is missing from on my livecd (universal and minimal). I checked all the lib directories. This causes a bunch of stuff not to work. Specifically, python will not run out of the box, I get an error saying this file is missing. I know there probably isn't much need for C++ support on the livecd, but it seems like if python is included, it should work.

The livecd is meant to do an install. It only has the tools to do that. The libstdc++ should be in the stage3 file which you extract on the partition you want gentoo installed on. _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. I understand that, I am wondering why I can boot up the LiveCD and the first thing I do is run python, and it doesn't work because there are shared libraries missing. Why is python even there then? |

Seems to be because of the way the livecds are build: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54213#c1
I think this is going to change with the 2006.0 release which should be out pretty soon. _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. Help answer the unanswered
