|
|
Hi,
I've seen some posts about problems with sleep (suspend-to-ram) but I couldn't find the solution to my problem... I found a post that describes exactly my problem ( http://lists.debian.org/debian-powerpc/2005/11/msg00575.html ) without solution ...
The problem is:
The iBook sleeps fine. Then it wakes up, shows the X screen with applications and everything (for less than one second), then it falls back to sleep again. On the second atempt it wakes up normally. This happens about every second time waking up from sleep. Here is my dmesg output (with several error messages that I couldn't fix ).
/proc/cpuinfo:
processor : 0
cpu : 7447A, altivec supported
clock : 1199MHz
revision : 0.1 (pvr 8003 0101)
bogomips : 1196.03
machine : PowerBook6,5
motherboard : PowerBook6,5 MacRISC3 Power Macintosh
detected as : 287 (iBook G4)
pmac flags : 0000001b
L2 cache : 512K unified
memory : 256MB
pmac-generation : NewWorld
Any suggestion is very appreciated.
Cheers!

I am using pbbuttonsd 0.7.2, gtkpbbuttons 0.6.8 and udev 0.85
Sometimes the computer wakes up (almost) perfectly (and in the first try), but this is rare... and in all cases there is no volume: dmesg output always contains the line "failed to set volume". |

Try a newer version of pbbuttonsd. According to pbbuttonsd's changelog, it was a bug in the 0.7.2 series:
Quote: | 2005-12-18 0.7.2-10
* removed bug in module_pmac.c that would trigger sleep again
immediately after wake-up under certain circumstances.
Thanks to Stefan Bruda for reporting this problem. |

Hi, I am the author of the cited posting.
And yes the bug was fixed some time later in pbbuttons 0.7.3.

Thanks!
Now it is working fine!
There exists a small problem with the volume... the computer always wakes up with volume and there exists the line "failed to set volume" in dmesg. Of course this is a minor problem, but if there exists a solution to this, please let me know.
Cheers! |
