In ubuntu, in one of the menus (can't remember wich one) you have a menu entry to lock the screen whch the whole screen will fade and then you need o input your password to get back to the desktop. Is that some gnome app that I can emerge? which one? Otherwise, can I have something like that in my gentoo box running gnome?

You can use vlock, but you will have to switch to console first. |

Moved from Other Things Gentoo to Desktop Environments. In KDE the shortcut ist Ctrl+Alt+L, in Gnome the function was probably removed because it might confuse users _________________ KDE |

IIRC, I had to emerge xscreensaver for the "Lock Screen" menu item to appear. _________________ python>>> q="'";s='q="%c";s=%c%s%c;print s%%(q,q,s,q)';print s%(q,q,s,q)
