|
|
Hi guys.
Started off with a fresh Gentoo install with Gnome-light and figured since i have a minimal setup that now would be a good time to update world. USB Automounting works at this stage.
So this is what i did.
Code: |
# emerge --sync
# emerge -avuD world
<Took Overnight to Finish>
# revdep-rebuild
# revdep-rebuild
# etc-update
<Entered -5 as the option>
|
Now i find that i cannot automount my usb sticks or drives. I mean before Nautilus would open up showing the stick/drives contents. Now nothing happens.
Here are the versions of the software im using.
Code: |
[ebuild R ] sys-apps/dbus-0.60-r4 USE="qt*"
[ebuild R ] sys-apps/hal-0.5.5.1-r3
[ebuild R ] sys-apps/ivman-0.6.9
[ebuild R ] sys-apps/pmount-0.9.6
[ebuild R ] sys-apps/hotplug-20040923-r1
[ebuild R ] sys-apps/coldplug-20040920
|
any ideas? man..this is why im soo soo skeptical with respect to emerge -uD world..but this time i was like..what the hey..im going for it.
Now this issue.
<sigh>

Don't know how to get it auto-mounted and never cared...but it should show up when you click the "Computer" icon on your desktop - all the drives are there and are mounted when you click them.
There has been a change to hal - it is not writing to /etc/fstab any more every time you insert a new media. _________________ Cheers |
