Been running privoxy and squid for a while. Decided to add Tor to the loop.

have you tried doing an emerge sync ?
It may need an update!

0.0.8.1 is old, and quite possibly has security issues. Servers are currently running 0.1.0.17. Ebuild, which I'll put on bugzilla as well.
