Hi, I have a few emerging problems ..
They could be related, since they showed their ugly faces in the
approximately same time.
I have problems emerging qt - this is what happens.
Code: |

When emerging world, this happens :
Code: |
bash-2.05a# emerge --pretend --update world
These are the packages that I would merge, in order.
Calculating world dependencies /

when trying to emerge clean, this shows up :
Code: |
bash-2.05a# emerge clean

This is really weird - what do I do ?
I did nothing particular to get these errors - just business as ususal
:P
Does anybody know what's wrong ?
I saw someone in a post the other day on gentoo-user with similar errors on emerging qt, but the advise given there - re-emerging lcms - didn't help.
Any help is REALLY appreciated |

Check /usr/portage/profiles/package.mask to see what packages are masked and make your world update stop.
But it won't go too far anyway: I'm having the same error while updating qt (yesterday evening) during an update world. We should probably wait for Dan's forthcoming ultra-stable (more than 3.0.1 release !!!) kde/qt anyway...
I don't know if it's the right way, but to make kde work again after libpng and liblcms update, I had to make two manual symbolic links isr /usr/lib (linpng12.so.0.1.2.3 -> libpng.so.3 and liblcms.so.1.0.8 -> liblcms.so.1).

Everything works fine now, the ebuild tree has been fixed/packages upgraded.
As always, a big thanks to the gentoo developers for making such a good distro |
