Hi People
Yes, this was bound to happen With intel's new Centrino chip for laptops things is going to get intresting.
I have installed Gentoo on the laptop I have compiled all the drivers into the kernel.
The problem is that all the devices go and sit on one irq(11):
ngeldenhuys root # cat /proc/interrupts
CPU0
0: 81703 XT-PIC timer
1: 1402 XT-PIC keyboard
2: 0 XT-PIC cascade
8: 2 XT-PIC rtc
11: 25377 XT-PIC Intel ICH4, PCI device 1217:7113 (O2 Micro, Inc.), PCI device 1217:7113 (O2 Micro, Inc.), usb-uhci, usb-uhci, usb-uhci, eth0

This is not good The Broadcom Gigabit card work. The sound card work only when the Broadcom Gigabit card is not loaded. The usb mouse work all of the time. The wireless card is not working. Haven't bothered with it yet. I also get some strange "Out of space on device" errors. I think this might be kernel related. There is enough inodes and space on the device
Any ideas, help or just support will be great
Thanks

I don't think it is an interrupt problem.
On my Centrino (Sony Vaio Z1SP) the popular interrupt is 9, otherwise /proc/interrupts is very similar to your's.
I do note however that ACPI isn't listed as using an interrupt. I had problems with audio because I configured it before ACPI.

I had a similiar exp with Dell C840, the problem I was having was the system was loosing time...
so I went ahead and fixed it - returned the item back to the store and bought a compaq 1525US - no problems ever since.
please note that there is no help offered here ... |
