i asked this before but since then some time [ ~ 2-3 years ] passed, so i decided to ask again:
- is there any possibility to run gentoo on the yopy [3000] ?
- does anybody know good sites to get software, howtos and other stuff for the device ?
- is there still a living community ? _________________ neoCortex maddin # uname -a

redhatter --> you mention Asperger in your signature.
that's interesting for the fact i suffer the aspberger syndrome myself
for years and was finally cleared up about during my psychology studies ...
[edit]
the link in your signature was pretty interesting ... _________________ neoCortex maddin # uname -a

Ahh... you realise Gentoo/ARM will probably run on that thing... if not a kernel, at least you should be able to place a chroot environment on an EXT3-formatted MMC card, mount that in the OS, and chroot into it.
Others will know more there -- I only deal with MIPS and i386.
Presumably though, if you can get at a shell, it should be doable. Actually replacing the OS will be more difficult (as it requires messing with that 32MB flash ROM), and could potentially turn the machine into a brick (unless you have a JTAG wired up), but with the right tools, and extreme care, it is probably quite doable. _________________ Stuart Longland (a.k.a Redhatter, VK4MSL)

i appreciate your answer, but ..
i already got so far.
i know, that thing runs a debian-like linux os.
now i'm searching for:
- yopy community
- yopy application packages
- yopy linux <--> gentoo linux communication
