Hello, there. I'm trying to finally fix my HP Pavilion zv5000 series' software suspend 2 configuration, because up until now it has not given me a problem suspending/resuming without running X, but the opposite doesn't apply.
What happens when I resume after suspending with X running is that the computer is fully functional. Everything works, other than X *but* the screen is blank. (as in completely black like when its power is off) But I also use its VGA output almost every day, and that screen is also blank but until I change to some other virtual console. (hitting ctrl-alt-F2, for instance) The laptop's DFP (LCD) doesn't ever wake up from its nap. Restarting the X server doesn't do anything.
I'm running a 2.6.15-suspend2-r5 kernel from portage.
And here's what I've done:
Added to the Device section in xorg.conf
Commented out from /etc/hibernate/blacklisted-modules
Configured /etc/hibernate/hibernate.conf
Code: | UseSuspend2 yes
Reboot no
EnableEscape yes
DefaultConsoleLevel 1
Compressor lzf
Encryptor none
ProcSetting userui_program /sbin/suspend2ui_text
Verbosity 0
LogFile /var/log/hibernate.log
LogVerbosity 1
Distribution gentoo
SaveClock restore-only
FBSplash on
FBSplashTheme suspend2
Unmount /mnt/win
OnResume 20 mount /mnt/win
UnloadBlacklistedModules yes
LoadModules auto
GentooModulesAutoload yes
RestartServices hotplug
SwitchToTextMode yes
UseDummyXServer yes |

Perhaps take a look at VBEtool, this wakes up my DFP after suspend-to-ram (on a Dell i8600 that is) |
