Hey Ive got a little HP E-Vectra system without a cdrom and was hopeing to install gentoo via the network "emulate cd" or something i dont know howto do this could anyone give me some advice?? i saw the diskless post but i wanna run it off its own disk im not quite sure ive never done a network boot before and any help would be great

Looking a useing a small usb bootable linux distro and grabbing the files off the network and web

as far as I know all you need is a linux distro with tools to set up your harddisk (fdisk, reiserfsprogs etc.) a working network connection, a program to download files from the net, chroot and tar. Everything else is in the tar file you download. |

Yeah i was gonna try damn small linux hopefully i can get that to boot |
