|
|
hi,
I connect to a server and work on that server suing ssh - all is fine. However my isp gives me a dynamic ip address that is changed at some (random) point during the day. This cuts me off from the server and means that i have to re log in to the server which is a pain... is there anyway to keep the session alive despite the change of ip?
thanks in advance,

not in a way that you wont be disconnected.
but by using screen you could after the relogin continue your last session. _________________ Nothing is secure / Security is always a trade-off with usability / Do not assume anything / Trust no-one, nothing / Paranoia is your friend / Think for yourself |

Problem is that when your IP changes, your ISP disconnects you then your system re-connects.
I second the sujestion of using screen. _________________ Someone asked me once if I suffered from mental illness. I told him I enjoyed every second of it. |
