I have merged QT 4.1.1. Is there a way to make KDE 3.5.1 use the newer QT libraries, or does it require me to install QT 3.3.4 as well as QT 4.1.1? Also, I have merged xorg-x11 modular (7.0) and am wanting KDE to use it instead of xorg-x11-6.8.2?

If you want to use KDE 3 I would stick with QT 3 if you dont want hassles. I think there are some pretty big changes in QT 4 http://doc.trolltech.com/4.1/porting4.html. I wrote an app in QT 3 for my MSc project and had to port it to QT 4, it was a bit of a pain. It would be a big task for th KDE developers and probably not a worthwhile one (they should work on KDE 4 instead). This may be possible and if you try to do it then good luck.

But if you want a desktop system using KDE soon then use QT 3. It probably emerges into a slot anyway does it?
