Question regarding NIC install.

So, I just installed a new network card into my computer. I updated the kernel to compile support for the netgear card. As far as I can tell, everything should be working. lspci shows the card is installed, but I can't get eth0 to come up.

If someone could tell me which steps to follow in order to figure out what's going on, I'd appreciate it.

What steps are you taking to bring the card up? ifconfig or dhcpd? Post your /etc/conf.d/net file and any error messages you're encountering...
