|
|
More precisely : I press space key to pause mplayer, I wait for xscreensaver to launch itself, then mplayer crashes when I press space key again. In other words, mplayer is not able to resume playing if xscreensaver operates while mplayer is paused ...
I have a radeon 9800, I use xorg (6.8.2-r6) and the ati-drivers (8.14.13-r3).
It is rather annoying if I want to interrupt a movie for anything longer than a few minutes :s
Any idea ? Thanks !
NOTE : it does not occur all the time ... I launched mplayer several times from a terminal to get a error message, but it worked fine ... |

Have you tried disabling the screen saver while mplayer is playing? There is an option to do so in mplayer's configuration settings. Also, what Desktop are you using? In KDE, I find kaffeine to work quite well (uses the xine engine). I started using that instead of mplayer (because mplayer has always been unstable for me) and I'm very happy with it. |

Yes, I have disabled the screensaver in the config mplayer file ... But this option does not disable xscreensaver while mplayer is paused.
About KDE : I am using gnome and mplayer is very stable in my case ... and I really like it |
