|
|
Hi,
i am trying to get sound in Evolution (2.4.2.1.) and Firefox (1.0.7) working but the two stay silent. I am wondering what to do. Do I have to set something in the preferences? Where can I turn on sound?
I am using both alsa and esd and most of my programs do have sound (mplayer, xmms, gaim). I am using fluxbox 0.9.14. as wm if thats important.
Thanks for help. |

Do you already have sound playing somethere else... I did, and what i found that fixes the problem was to edit the firefox script with Code: | aoss /usr/libexec/firefox "$@" | it is probably something similar to that for evolution -- however make sure that you have dmix setup -- see http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_ALSA_sound_mixer_aka_dmix |

I have dmix running. Gaim is working perfectly fine with it. Evolution is still silent though ... |

did the firefox modification work?? if so then you will probably have to create a similar wrapper for evolution that does aoss and "$@" |
