Ever since I updated to 1.2 BF2 won't start. It shows the splash screen, then the screen goes black and it just sits at that screen until i kill wine. The same thing happened to me in windows, except the game shut down after a few seconds. How do I fix this?
Also, how do I find out the joystick axis that cedega wants? jstest just segfaults for me.
EDIT: Now another problem has come up. I don't know what I did to make it happen. When I run half-life 2, it just freezes at the blurred laoding screen.

You said that bf2 in windows has a similar problem. Does HL2 do that in windows as well?
Also, did you change anything or did this just happen randomly? (Other than the bf2 update of course)
Edit: This is a known bug for the ATI 9200/9250 cards with the newest ATI drivers (windows XP) _________________ TheCarNinja

I use nvidia. No HL2 never screws up in windows. And yes, it just happened randomly for HL2. |

Thats sounds like a driver problem. Did you try rolling back or updating? _________________ TheCarNinja

Ah, turns out the problem with the steam games was ALSA, i had it set to use MMap, turns out that was messing it up.
I still have the BF2 problems though. And I'd also like to know how to run BF2 in a window, if it's possible. |

I couldn't even run BF2 in windows... trying to pull it off in cedega would be a task at best. :\ _________________ CPU: 3800+ X2 (2.5Ghz)

BF2 keeps a profile under My Docs\Battlefield 2\profiles\, try deleting or moving these and see if starts properly. |

Its odd that it doesn't work in windows. Reinstall perhaps? Maybe the patch messed up? _________________ TheCarNinja

Ok, well BF2 aside for now, I have run into yet another problem This one has to do with CS:S. When I try to join a game it just freezes half-way through loading |

Ok, so I fixed CS:S by switching to winxp instead of win98. However the fonts all appear bold and jagged, same with some pictures, like the wepon thumbnails, but they didn't in 98.
And my backspace key doesnt work.
EDIT: Ugh And now for some f***ed up reason it doesn't work anymore!? It just crashes on Sending Client Info. The only thing I remember doing that might have caused this is changing my video settings. I changed them back but it still doesn't work. |

Return to default settings. If that doesn't work... consider contacting transgaming? _________________ CPU: 3800+ X2 (2.5Ghz)

I'll try default settings..... but I don't think transgaming will want to help me..... i didn't exactly donate financial support to their cause
EDIT: Ok, returning to default didn't make a difference. It seems to be kind of random. I kept on trying over and over again with different servers and one actually worked. So after that I tried going into another one, and that worked. Then my game crashed (Mouse was operating in game, but keyboard wasn't, even though cedega had the keyboard. So I couldn't release the keyboard and was basically incapable of doing anything at all) so I restarted my computer, fired up CS again and I couldn't get into a server.
Sometimes I get a dialog box "Debug Assertion Failed" It seems to be a problem with the coding, not cedega. |

Ay I reinstalled and now it seems to be fixed.... for now at least.
EDIT: For now meant two connects, now i'm back to the same problem.
One more problem who didn't see that coming? The CT character models, and my players arms appear shiny, like they're coated in spit or something. |
