adsl-start connects but can't download anything! [SOLVED]

i've booted gentoo livecd, ran adsl-setup and configured everything as shown in gentoo handbook.

adsl-start connects perfectly, but I can't download anyhing, access any site...
ping also doesn't work... it doesn't show anything!

any ideas why it's happening? can it be a hardware problem?

Did you try accessing the internet without running adsl-setup? Some adsl hardware acts as a dhcp server and just works without doing anything special. If not, post your network setup, that is what kind of hardware, how is it connected, that sort of thing.

thanks, I edited /etc/conf.d/net and configured the adsl support, after that ran
