All I'm getting is a grub> prompt.
How come the menu isn't showing up?

did you create a menu.lst ...
if yes try moving this to /boot and retry to boot ...
you can pass
Code: | kernel /boot/bzImage |

I did thi too. I feel pretty stupid. You probably named menu.lst as menu.1st. It's not a one in there is a L. Think list without the I. |
