This version runs very well on my pc. But it's as slow as previous versions, I really hope this will change in the future.
BTW, when you install OOo 1.1 beta, make sure you enable the option "Use system font for user interface" (Tools->Options->Accessibility). When this option is enabled, you get really nice anti-aliased fonts

I just installed it and it runs much better on my system. It is almost not sluggish. Startup time is improved too, although not as much as I expected it to. It seems to be more compatible with MS Word too, but don't quote me on that; I have opened exactly 1 (tricky) file with it so far
Edit: Its stability isn't spectecular though. |

just a note:
when you have installed oo 1.0.1 or 1.0.2 and then running ooffice saying, that he is using the settings for the old version.
do this one:
cd
mv .openoffice .openoffice_backup
ooffice
then close openoffice 1.1beta
mv .openoffice/1.1_beta .openoffice_backup
mv .openoffice_backup .openoffice
