Am I missing something or do we have to emerge the entire openldap package just to emerge pam_ldap and nss_ldap on clients to connect to another server running openldap? (if that makes sense)
Isn't there a client build that will just compile the tools needed to make the connection and query the directory.
If there is how can I tell emerge NOT to compile openldap?
Sorry if I'm missing something here...

anyone ever used an openldap directory to authenticate more than one server before? How did you do it? |

I think the openldap server and client share the same libraries, so if you want to do anything ldap, you need the whole openldap suite. Even if you want ldap support for PHP. _________________ Half-life/Source/Urban Terror/Unreal control panel -> www.opengamepanel.org

I want to know what i need to install in one client just to be authenticated and authorized by ldap-server.
Can anyone give me one light in the darkness?
