|
|
Ive been using genkernel with my laptop to have it automatically generate a kernel. It turns out genkernel didn't install ACPI power support. If I use menuconfig with genkernel to manually put it in, will I have to do the whole menuconfig process and check off all the stuff I need, totally eliminating the need for genkernel? Thanks. |

Genkernel builds almost everything, and most definitely includes acpi support.
As a module, most likely - boot with
Code: | <kernelname> acpi=on |
I would try to wean myself from genkernel very quickly, though - it often causes more trouble than it's worth. _________________ >>> emerge (3 of 7) mcse/70-293 to /

I always used menuconfig, but I use genkernel cause im way too lazy to select options, and I always feel like I missed something. With genkernel I don't get that. |

genkernel selects every one of the options in the kernel. I use it so I dont have to do it manually. |
