Hello,

I am looking for a way to find out inactive ports on a switch. I know I have to do an snmp walk to get the IFIndex, Ifoperstatus, SysUptime, and IfDescription.

Is there a way I can script all of this into one script and pipe it all out to give me the ports, their description, a down operational status, and a comparable time to sysuptime that tells me the interface has been down since the switch reloaded?

Thanks

Have a look at Perl. You'll need a few Perl modules to support it. If you've got the OIDs or the MIB you'll be in business.
