Past week I have been experimenting with enabling UTF-8, but not without problems. I have a Unicode test file and it works in almost all applications, but not in gnome-terminal. If I 'cat' it, I see a lot of blocks. It works in Konsole though and I have set the exact same font (Bitstream Vera Sans Mono) but it still is only blocks. I works in a few other Gnome applications (Gedit, for example) but not in Epiphany (not that I use it). It even works in plain xterm. |

Is "Terminal > Character encoding" set to UTF-8? The file works fine for me by the way. _________________ python>>> q="'";s='q="%c";s=%c%s%c;print s%%(q,q,s,q)';print s%(q,q,s,q)

Thanks for the suggestions. It's actually set to UTF-8 already, and doesn't display correctly. |
