Hi,
Right now i am running a gforce 4 mx on an asus motherboard w/o pci-e and on an athlonXP 2500+ . I am looking to upgrade the video board (partially in because of the release of the next age of empires this week) and i am not sure what to get. i am looking to spend about $100. I would like vivo if it is linux supported (right now i am running a recent nitro kernel but i could change that if it matters). Does anyone have this working? it looks like mplayer supports vivo but i have seen a number of older threads that don't have a successful ending. I am also wondering which processor to get. where is the point where agp becomes a bottleneck? I want to stay with nvidia.
What do you suggest?
Thanks
3d heavy games i play most:
M$'s Age of series (from windows for now ;( )
Eternal lands
Planeshift (when i can get it to compile)
misc 3d linux and windows games on occasion. |

I'm getting ready to put a geforce 6600GT in one of my linux machines.. Seems to be a pretty powerful card, enough for most anything linux can throw at it at least... _________________
