Emu10k1 + hl + voice?

I'm just wondering if anyone has had luck getting voice comms working in hl with an Emu10k1 (Soundblaster Live) card. Right now I'm running in with ALSA, ALSA-OSS "UseMMap" = "N", "FullDuplex" = "Y" and my friends say the can hear me but it is all choppy like I am quickly pressing and releasing the transmit button.

Lemme know if you have any working configs with ALSA, kernel drivers, or the emu10k1 specific driver set.

Up until 3 days ago I had an es1371... I tried OSS and ALSA (for other reasons), and I got the same thing ... just noise from my mic, my voice could barely be heard

yesterday I got a sblive (actually "stole" it from my dad's pc

) and I recompiled my kernel with OSS only to find that some software outputs choppy sound (specifically muse), so I installed ALSA and now sound is great... I have yet to try it on hl to see if the voice works... I'll do it tonight
