I can't load kuser, when I try to run it from Run it asks for a password and never loads.
I get this error in a terminal session in KDE:
Code: |
# kuser
Xlib: extension "XInputExtension" missing on display ":1.0".
Failed to get list of devices
KCrash: Application 'kuser' crashing...
Unable to start Dr. Konqi
|
I'm logged in as my regular user in KDE thru VNC, i'm getting this "XInputExtension" missing error in the VNC logs as well.
I have a sneaking suspition this has to do with the fact that this is a VNC session not a console session but I need some answers from the good people here.
Whats wrong and how do I correct this? |

I'm not at school to check at the moment, I beleive it is 3.4.3, it did work at one point. Should I downgrade to the last release or upgrade to a masked version? |

Naturally I have no problem with that, however the machine is going to be managed by people who have no Linux experience, I was in the process of writing a manual for basic systems managment when I realized that it had stopped working. I think i'll try and downgrade KDE, if that doesn't work i'll reinstall from scratch.
Thank you for your responses. |

Your recommendation of using KDE 3.5 was correct, thank you it loads now.
I have a new issue though.
When I create a user in Kuser the /etc/skel files are copied over however .bashrc is not run when a user logs in. If I create the user with useradd from command line it works fine.
Any suggestions? |
