Hi guys,
I've had a look around and what I've come up with was mostly inconclusive.
I'm looking for a way to set up Linux to be a terminal server along the lines of Windows TS.
ie. If I log on as a user that's logged on before (and just for example closed the VNC viewer rather than logging off properly) it will reconnect me to the existing session.
Additionally I'd like for more than one person to be able to enjoy the benefits of the above (at the same time). This probably means it will have to run independenly of X, but frankly that's a bonus for me as I want to get away from the reliance on a physical monitor to output to (In Windows TS the client decides on the resolution and colour depth, but I'm reasonably happy to leave this up to the server still).
I'm totally open to using other apps like NX, but so far I haven't come across conclusive evidence that any will actually do what I'm looking for. Using a Windows based X server and redirecting the display is unfortunately not an option for me.
Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions, or needs more information on my part.
Many thanks,
Henning |

I'm not looking at using thin clients, just to give users the option of connecting to the server.
I can't figure out from the guide what they're using either, but as far as I can tell it's the X11 protocol, which isn't of use to me.
Thanks,
