I just did a fresh install on my ibook 1GHz, but when I setup pbbuttons and cpufreq, they didn't properly throttle the cpu. Running:
"cpufreqd-set dynamic" would yield "No cpufreqd socket found".
I could still manually set the speed by:
"echo [powersave|performance] > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor"
or "cpufreq-set -g [powersave|performance]"
I've found a work-around by changing the value "Script_PMCS" in /etc/pbbuttonsd.conf to "/usr/bin/cpufreq-set -g %s", but I don't know why my previous setup didn't work, especially when I'm using the same kernel and config as before.
