disk space to mirror

Anyone know how much disk space it would take to mirror a gentoo distfiles site?

I have about 500 (of the more usual packages I guess, eg. whole gnome/kde stuff) downloaded, they take about 1GB, so mirroring the whole distribution should be nothing to worry about diskspace, if your harddisk is not older than 3 years
