raga, digitando # /etc/init.d/net.eth2 start
segue il segente errore...sapete da cosa è dovuto?

Spero tu abbia sostituito ad ESSID1/2 i relativi valori REALI (quelli configurati dall' AP/router WiFi)... 
O forse mi sbaglio e non ho visto qualche simbolo di commento nel file di conf che hai postato...

cioè???potresti spiegarmi coome impostarlo in modo da potermi collegare automaticamente a qualsiasi rete wireless???Anche ad esempio a quello di un altro portatile???

Non ci si può connettere automaticamente a qualsiasi rete wireless...
Alcune richiedono una password o una chiave, altre hanno un determinato essid, per connettere due pc bisogna fare una connessioe ad-hoc mentre per un ap è managed, etc.... etc....
ti do due consigli:
1) ti emergi wlassistant (è masked) che è grafico e ti consente di scegliere le varie connessioni disponibili a cui connetterti
2) ti leggi la documentazione sullo wireless, ne capisci il funzionamento di base, dopodiché sarai in grado di connetterti a qualsiasi rete con pochi comandi da terminale.
Una soluzione diversa da quelle precedenti mi sembra difficile....

ovvero mi sembra che tu non lo abbia affatto impostato.... hai letto che c'è scritto dentro? ti dice appunto di inserire lì i tuoi valori... ti consiglio di leggere la documentazione sul sito gentoo, sullo wiki, sul forum o su google prima di fare le cose a caso...
