I have been running 2 channel music and videos through my sound card to my reciever via a coax cable for some months now, but recently i tried to set it up to play digital dvds and the like. i eventually got this working (by setting the speaker to "Pass Through" in xine) but now i can only get sound to the reciever when i play a dvd, anything else i play i get no sound. The strange thing is that i still recieve sound through my headphones i have connnected. I am lost now because i never had to do anything to get the sound out of the digital output, it has always just worked.
Any ideas? |

run alsamixer or kmix and have a look at all the options, kmix is easier to use, just go to the switches tab and have a look _________________ Admiral Trigger Happy

Yeah i have spent hours going through all the different options in there. is there any other config files rather than /etc/modules.d/alsa that i may need to change. I am using the alsa driver profided in the kernel, and i am using kernel 2.6.15-gentoo-r1. |
