Strange 3D visuals - Rage128Pro

Hi,

Apologies if this is the wrong place - not sure if its an X problem, or hardware...

I have noticed in a couple of Apps - Blender3D and also in XScreenSaver - that I get strange spikes flying off to the left from 3d objects.

When I first open blender annd get the default 3d cube, the spikes extend from the cube to the left hand side of the screen, no matter what orientation I look at the cube with.

In certain screensavers - such as the polygon one, the same also happens

I have a screenshot which would make it a whole lot clearer but have no where to host it unfortunately.

Hopefully, this phenomenon has been seen before.
