Salve a tutti... sono al mio primo post e da pochi giorni ho avuto il mio approccio con gentoo che reputo spettacolare fenomenale in quanto velocità e stabilità per non parlare dei potentissimi strumenti che ha... sono riuscito ad avere praticamente quasi tutto dalla mia gentoo box ma devo ancora rivedere alcuni dettagli... uno di questi riguarda il mount (o per meglio dire l'automount).. ho spulciato il forum per due ore e non ho trovato granchè per il mio problema...
Prima di tutto vi posto il mio fstab:

In pratica ho un hd sata con windows ntfs e un'altra partizione dati in fat32 che vanno tranqullamente.. il problema è la partizione root /dev/hdc3. In nautilus mi esce un presunto volume da 36 gb (che poi è il disco su cui ho linux senza la /boot e swap(se vi chiedete perchè l'hd di linux è hdc è perchè lo tengo sul secondary master)) con l'icona di un dispositivo cdrom e se provo ad accedervi mi da questo errore:

Googlando non ho trovato niente di niente!!! Il floppy pure ha l'icona di un dispositivo cdrom ma se ne inserisco uno e poi ci clicco sopra questa diventa l'icona di un normale disco floppy... cosa c'è che non va? Perchè il mio gentoolino mi fa questi scherzetti? Le versioni di hal e compagnia bella sono quelle stable di portage... spero possiate darmi una risposta... so che non è un vero e proprio problema ma vorrei avere un SO il più ordinato possibile... grazie e notte a tutti

Se vuoi sfruttare l'automountinh dei dispositivi rimovibili (flopp-cdrom-pendrive usb, ecc)
- assicurati che il kernel sia compilato con il supporto ai fs fat,iso-joliet,ntfs ecc.
- non inserire le relative voci in /etc/fstab (si arrangia hal+pmount)
- assicurati di aver installato udev,dbus e hal, e installare dbus e hal nel runlevel default
- se usi un desktop environment o un window manager assicurati compilare i pacchetti che gestiscono il montaggio delle periferiche (es. in KDE è kdebase-kioslaves) con la flag USE hal attiva
Fatto questo non dovresti avere problemi di sorta!

mi sono dimenticato di dire che uso gnome-volume-manager e cmq è tutto installato correttamente, il kernel è compilato per quei file system ed ho eliminato le rghe relative ai dispositivi cdrom usb e floppy, ma c'è sempre un'icona di un disco cdrom in "computer" che se ci clicco due volte mi da l'errore che ho scritto nel primo post...:

. Quest'icona dovrebbe corrispondere alla partizione di root ("/") che non dovrebbe esserci dato che se entro come root in nautilus non c'è... o al limite deve almeno aprirmi la directory se proprio deve stare li e non darmi errore...
Poi l'automount funziona solo se riavvio il server x xon ctr+alt+backspace, nel senso che i supporti sono già inseriti (usb, cdrom floppy) questi vengono riconosciuto, ma se non sono inseriti appare soltanto la relativa icona in computer senza l'etichetta e di conseguenza non appare niente sul desktop e ci devo cliccare due volte su per montarlo... se invece riavvio il server X l'automount funziona correttamente: appena inserisco un supporto mi viene subito riconosciuto e mi si apre la relativa finestra...
Come posso risolvere questi 2 problemi?
